The largest of the rock carving areas in Alta that have been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List is located by the World Heritage Rock Art Centre– Alta Museum (WAM).
Here you can experience rock carvings from different time periods, from the oldest, made more than 6000 years ago, to the youngest, which are about 2000 years old. Alta museum
In Alta you can visit the largest canyon in Europe. The view is impressive. This canyon and building the dam were once a topic for controversy between the Saami and the Norwegian government, and had an affect on raising the sense of ethnic rights among the Saami in Norway.

This glacier is located by a fjord, and you can access it by boat or even make a guided glacier hiking trip.
This waterfall may be one of the most impressive ones in Northern Norway and is located in Reisa national park. It runs 269 meters and ends in Reisa valley. You can have a good look at the waterfall from a river boat.
This old trading and shipping company was established in 1868 and is still operating. You can go shopping, find accommodation or take a ferry from this charming little village.

Torassiepin Lomapallas is an old tavern established in the 1900th century, but is a museum and reindeer farm today. It offers a lot of local Lappish history and traditions for the visitor.

In the village of Kilpisjärvi in Enontekiö is located one of the highest fells in Finland. A stairway leads to the top of the fell. A magnificent view opens on lake Kilpisjärvi and fells in Sweden and Norway.
The fishing establishment was founded already in the 16th century, but the oldest remaining huts are from the 18th century.
Särkitunturi is a perfect destination for day hiking trips. It is easy to access and the trail is marked. From top of the fell opens a fantastic view over the Pallas fells. On a clear day it is possible to see Ylläs and Levi as well.
